I read somewhere that the core creative team of Bungie was unhappy with the way Microsoft does things and decided to leave. Anyone know if this has any truth to it?

Ya, I read it on a GameCube fanboy site
The core team is still there.

I somehow doubt Halo 2 will make it to the computer. This will most probably be an Xbox exclusive. The only reason Halo is coming to the PC was because it was originally planned for the PC/Mac before Microsoft dove in..they were just tying up loose ends there.

The first one had lots of potential but the levels were so repetitive especially towards the end, it was also much to short and linear. It also looked highly dated next to Metroid.
I personally found Metroid about 10x better, I know many people love Halo because of the multiplayer but I don't know anyone else with an xbox so I can't really give that a whirl.

Bungie Dogs!
X-Box owners, please don't feel guilty whilst pirateing this software. Bungie used to rule, now they suck. I wish them really bad luck in heavy traffic.

Yes, Halo 2 will be awesome. It's sad that Microsoft gobbled up Bungie, but that alone isn't enough to pull me away from their games.

F*ck Bungie, and F*ck microsoft.
If Halo ever comes out for the Mac, maybe I'll reconsider my stand, but those ****ing sell outs can kiss my ass until then.

I'm too lazy to find the article but I remember that it said around 13 people left Bungie after the acquisition.
Some of them are now in Zoonami, Nintendo, and several others. Few other ex-Bungie staffs formed a new company but I dunno what it's called.
I think some people are confusing Bungie with Rare though cause most of the important people left Rare.

I'm more interested in seeing what Rare (MS's other acquision) is going to be doing for Perfect Dark 2. Halo was a great game, but I went back and started playing Perfect Dark for N64 last week, and damn, it's amazing at how much more of a detail oriented person I have become. Perfect Dark has so many things that I overlooked the first time through... many things that to this day beat what Halo has to offer, in my opinion of course.
But Halo 2 should be pretty good. Too bad it won't come to Mac/PC though. Xbox controller (and the controller S) is something I still don't like :/

Actually I doubt I would. If some company is KICKING ASS, and catering to a specific community, mac people, then someone realizes how awesome they are, buys them up, and makes them go against the mac community? **** THAT.

You mean like how Halo 1 was so revolutionary? So revolutionary that it was just like every other damn FSP on the market.

I'm so tired of people saying they hate bungie and halo simply because it came out on xbox. If it had come out for mac, everyone would be singing its praises and celebrating bungie. That said, I thought the single player was very entertaining but not groundbreaking. The multiplayer on the other hand is just about the best thing i've ever played. Hooking up 4 xboxes in one room with 16 guys playing teams on bloodgulch is amazing. Internet gaming still cant compare to actually being in the same room as the guys youre playing with. As for Halo 2, I cant wait! Looks better than the original and you get to play people online when no ones arround for LAN games.

Microsoft's PRs hold as much water as a wet paper sack. I think it's safe to continue asking if Halo will ever show up on PC/Mac.
Even if it does, I won't buy it until it's on the $5 rack.

Me too. I loved Perfect Dark on the N64.
However: anyone remember the original Oni demos? The game and the end wasn't nearly as jam-packed as those first bunch of movies looked, no multi-player, etc. I still liked it OK, the 3rd person control avoided a lot of the camera problems that N64 games had (mainly by putting everything inside office buildings and other rooms! ) but the whole thing felt like I should have been playing with a game controller and not a mouse (the combo controls especially).

Hey you're right! And we DID do that, with Marathon, Oni, and other cool bungie games. BUT THEN BUNGIE FREAKING SOLD THE HELL OUT AND WENT AGAINST THE VERY PEOPLE WHO MADE THEM SO SUCCESSFUL.
They SCREWED their customer base.
SCREW THEM.

I already have a PS2 and a GC, I don't need an Xbox. I was a fan of Bungie games but since they don't make games for my favorite platform anymore they've lost me as a fan. I'll wait for Doom 3 for Mac.
