I friend of mine gave a copy of a recent vacation trip burned on to DVD+R using a PC. However, under both OS9 and OSX, I can not get the DVD to play on my Mac. OSX says is can't read the disc as the format is not supported under OSX. With OS9, I can get the DVD to mount, then my Mac freezes a few seconds inot the DVD film footage.

I would have thought my Mac would have been able to play any DVD. Is ther problem with the types of DVD disc used or just that it was burned on a PC?

I'd appreciated any advice on how I can get this DVD to play on my Mac.

Thanks

Probably depends on the drive, and how the disc was burnt.

Some PC programs make non-standard DVDs which won't play properly and some drives probably don't work properly with +R discs.

(+R isn't really recommended in the Mac context yet, IMO.)
