So I purchased a refurb on 9/25. It was a black macbook, supposed to be 512mb, but it came with 1gb.

It worked fine for a while and then would shut down for no apparant reason at all. Today I took it to the genius bar..they attached a flash drive and saw that my computer had the shutdown intermittantly today. Genius bar guy, cool dude, told me they needed to replace the heatsink and could do it for me there. I then advised my Isight would stay on sometimes.

Long story short, he had to send it in for service as he thinks it's the heatsink and logic board. A few quick questions:

On the work order the machine is described as, "Stock + 1 gb". Will they look at my order and take away the 1gb I got for free?

Will they attibute the problem to Stock + 1gb, bad ram and ignore the RSS and logic board issues?

Any horror stories about macbooks coming back from service?

Thanks!
Charles

they won't touch your RAM. They can't prove where you got it or why it's one gig. If they recorded it as having 1GB then that's what you'll get back.
