Obviously for those that ordered Applecare with their iPads.... I ordered an iPad / keyboard / dock etc and the iPad and Keyboard came. The dock is on its way... but no AppleCare to be seen. Anyone else?

Well, you have a year to register it... Thus I'm sure getting everything else out was a higher priority.

I see just wondering though.. Thought it would just ship out with the keyboard and or dock separately as they did in this case. All UPS delivered today was the iPad. If I don't register it, I guess I can also just return it with receipt right (unopened box/ unused code?)

When I got my MacBook with AppleCare from Apple's online store, one of the e-mails Apple sent me mentioned "AppleCare (auto-register)" or some such.

I never had to register it, and never got a separate serial or anything beyond that mail.

As far as I know, they don't bother sending an extra package when you buy AppleCare with the machine. When we bought my wife's MacBook in 2008 the Apple Store guy explained that he got it registered for AppleCare as part of the purchase...

It must have been somewhere between August '07 and then that they started this, because when I picked up my iMac in '07 they DID give me an AppleCare box.

I bought my MacBook in November '06, and it was auto-enrolled.

When I got AppleCare with my first iPod touch, it was auto-enrolled, but I got the box anyway.

Makes sense; there's absolutely no reason to send out AppleCare in a box when all you need is the number. When I sold Apple products, I always thought the reason they packaged up the AppleCare registration number so nicely was to give people another thing to buy with an Apple logo on it.

But what about the copy of Tech Tool Pro? That's what makes AppleCare worth it!

Except it wasn't even Pro. It was below Pro.
