I saw a band called "Los Lonely Boys" perform on Austin City Limits on PBS. Some of the guitar work sounds like Santana, with a little blues and even a little islandstyling.

Also, I've been on a Guster, Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson kick for a little while.

Hell yeah, I love the song Heaven when they played it. (Los Lonely Boys).

I am also digging Rods and Cones by the Blue Man Group.

I would've bought that one from the iTMS except I'm in Canada.

Anyway, I'm addicted to music from the 60-80's. Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Zepplin, Meatloaf, Boston, G&R...not one band or song in particular right now.

Newest Cypress Hill.

Still trying to decide if it is as good as their first material or not. Also trying to decide what songs could be singles played on TV. So far have about 80-90% accuracy in that area on new CD's.

If you like Derek (Eric), Zep, Beatles, Jimi, Miles Davis, etc...check out http://www.sharingthegroove.org/

It's a great community that shares live and unreleased public material. It's all in lossless compression, so you'll need to download xACT (search VT or MU) to convert them to AIFF. I downloaded the Fillmore Double Night of Derek & the Dominos a week or two ago and the quality is incredible. Look for soundboard (SBD) material for the best quality live; demo/unreleased studio material is usually pretty good, too; audience recordings (AUD) usually aren't nearly as good, but some people still like them.

Right now: Tool.

But it is more than a passing fad. I have been listening to all of Tool's albums for the past 4 months, with at least a few songs everyday. I think I am actually liking the songs the more that I listen to them.

Bicycle.

Their first (and last) album came out in '99 - and I ran across it in a used CD shop a week or so ago for 99. It's interesting stuff. But it grows on you.

Also, The Folk Implosion.

One Part Lullaby is a damn fine album.

Sorry, that's not Tears for Fears. "Mad World" on the Donnie Darko soundtrack is a cover by Gary Jules. You can find it on his amazing album "Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets," which is one disc I've been listening to for weeks. Definitely one of my better purchases.

I've also been addicted to:

Boards of Canada "Music Has the Right to Children"
Turin Brakes "Ether Song"
Spoon "Girls can Tell"
The Decemberists "Her Majesty"
The Notwist "Neon Golden"
Calexico "Feast of Wire"

Yeah. Something like that.

Right now for me it's asian pop. Don't understand the words but the music rocks. BoA is the name I think. When I find a song I like I just play it til it's dead. Otherwise I can't listen to anything else without thinking about the song that is stuck in my head.

Sorry, The Darkness get that prize. Talk about puke music.

Right now System of a Down gets all my attention though they are a little weird

I have a hard time knocking The Darkness because they don't even take themselves seriously. They don't even begin to try to act like a serious band.

Which is why I like them even though I don't typically don't like their kind of music.

Dashboard does suck though.

Another Simon & Garfunkel addict here...lyrics, harmony, melody: great for singing along. But is there a version of Bridge Over Troubled Water without those horrible off-key violins??

Also presently addicted to: Bob Dylan's Tangled Up in Blue, Boots of Spanish Leather and Shelter from the Storm.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's Suite: Judy Blue Eyes

John Coltrane's Equinox

I recently rediscovered Tom Waits' first album Closing Time which is really unlike any of his later albums as he actually SINGS on it. Melancholy, perfect for when you're not in the mood for something loud or fast or electro or whatever.

I respect everything from Outkast, to Angra, to Chopin, to The Ataris, to No Doubt, to (etc, etc), to an extent (at least).

Dashboard, however, suck. As does anyone that likes them. End of story. Sorry, but Chris is a ****.
