I've installed OS-X on two machines, a 2 processor G4 and an ibook. I cannot get the classic system to load in. It hangs up towards the end of the loading in cycle. Also, I am having an impossible time getting into the internet, and tried just about everything, using the same addresses that I've used in the past.

Sounds to me as though you have an extension problem on OS 9... Try booting Classic with extensions off.
Also, go into OS X prefs/Network. Click on Advanced, choose you connection of choice.
Best I can do here. Unless you can provide more details

If you have a PPP and an ethernet path in the advanced tab of the network panel, make sure that the topmost one is the one you actually use to connect to the internet. I switched them around once just to see what would happen, and what happened was that I couldn't connect any more.
