after seeing this
i began to think of ways to to fully customize the iPod Shuffle with a print out label. the sticker would have to be not too adhesive to the plastic and a glossy type to offer protection and avoid scratches. (a flat sticker would be less appealing and the colors would run).
any takers?
i figure it could also be a huge market to make a set of precut, ipod sticker pages for ipod shuffle users to load into their printers at home and be able to completely change the look of it.

Outsource to a printer to get it printed and laminated as well.

Very cool. When do you think they'll be ready?
Of course, if my 1 Gig Shuffle would arrive, too, it would be nice. Stoopid Apple . . .

Can you easily remove the labels, and stick on other labels? Like exchange them? And does it leave any kind of residue after you have removed the labels?
I'm definetly interested, although I don't have my Shuffle yet.

Nice job futurist. I like the work. Got any more designs coming up, or will you be able to do custom work as well?

As I was trying to figure out what material to print on, I came across static cling...and let me tell you, Static cling by far is the best material to use if you don't want any residue at all. It might sound like it won't stick well but trust me when I say that I used it and it worked perfectly. No residue and it didn't come off at all unless you peeled it off yourself. You could buy 25 packs for inkjets and it only costs around $20 or so (and think of all the designs you could make with that many sheets!). I was going to start selling my own but with the weak reinforcement from my boss, I just can't get the ball rolling, so I'll be submitting my work to some of the companies that are already selling some and collecting percentages. All you would need to make your own would be a sheet of static cling, an exacto blade, and a creative mind. I'll post some home made ones in a week or so (waiting on paper delivery).
