Thank you for all of the work. It will certainly take me some time to get accustomed to the altered appearance, however. . .

Maybe all you need is a uniform set of icons, as you seem to have a mix from vb3 and vb2 still, but I guess you'll get to it soon guys.

Ok, hopefully no more email replies (I did look in the usercp, but didn't realise it referred to default behaviour rather than for every instance).

=> Also, why are some of us just 'registered user's, while others still have their stars?

vb3 ... kinky and pimpy

we all know that this font size business is gonna be very, very messy - right?

nice job -

Yeah, a lot of people are going to be inundated with unwanted notification messages. "Instant notification" is a really boneheaded default option for the vendor to have chosen. Oh, and the only reason I can think of to explain the lack of stars is that only mods and admins are entitled to them now.

OK, understood that this is a kind of temp layout and not the final look, but:

Blue band across the top of every post is a bit weird.
Only the Admins (and Zimphire with his multi coloured thang) have stars.
The text links to the different forums at the bottom of the page have gone.

The quick reply box is good though!

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

The Desktop thread is really wacky. Sizes are off and I couldn't get past page 183 without manually typing in the last page number in the location bar.

Refreshing change. It looks quite good after seeing the old stuff for so long.

I take it there is more work to do, but I'd like to note that the "message" box (inclusive of smilies and format toolbar) doesn't fit correctly while using a 1024x768 resolution. Otherwise, good stuff.

"Quick Reply" box ... oooooh, this is so very tempting. Zimph's post count is going to be way beyond 50,000 in no time.

If I was a meanie I'd say: "Who cares about the post count - I'll still have to read his posts!?!" But I'm not a meanie and therefore would never say anything of the kind about Zimphie - he's one of the forum mascots, after all ...

I think I will have to get used to it (don't like it yet)...

Shouldn't transparent .png work on Windows IE now (because they still don't)??

Well, if you take a look at DH's announcement about the update, he said we should look forward to a radical change in forum appearance to be debuted in the coming weeks. . .

i like the look tho i expected more smilies. i wonder what that "totally new look" will be like. osx type aqua styling? tiger themed? who knows ..

Again, guys, this is only the first phase of the update, so it's more than premature to begin critiquing various features.

It's much better now, even with the temp. theme. But... the dark blue title-bar thing above every reply seems too dark, perhaps a grey colour?

I thought what we're seeing right now was pretty "new and improved," but note that there will be MORE and DIFFERENTER changes to the appearance coming! Woo hoo! This is gonna be fun!

Congrats, being a person that updates a website, I can only wonder how much time this has taken. Congrats.

My input: We need to turn a few things off, like font size...
