Jeb Bush is pushing to reopen or open an investigation into whether Michael Schiavo waited to long to call 911 when Terry had her initial collapse fifteen years ago. Here's my cynical list of reasons:
A. Trying to keep the ole Jeb Bush name in the limelight
B. Appeasing the religious right which have contributed to his political campaigns and form a base of support for him in FLA.
C. Fundraising (kind of tied into B)
D. Vilification. The autopsy proved Jeb et al were wrong and well, someone's just got to get taken out to the woodshed for that.
If I was to be non-cynical my list would be:
E. Outright compassion and concern for T. Schiavo's parents and Terry herself.
F. Religious conviction. Jeb is supposedly more devout than W.
G. Serving justice if justice need be served.
Eh, I'm going to throw A-F in the blender and say it's a nice combo deal. Whatever the reason he should stop, the two families have been through the grist mill and I can't see the point of doing anymore, the poor girl is dead, let her be, and M. Schiavo has had I think his fair share of getting drug through the mud by people who have no business doing so. Can't they find some other poor Joe's personal tragedy to use for their own political gains and power struggles?

I mean if they want to investigate the guy, do it. But keep it to themselves.
They don't need to media whore about it.

Hopefully one of these threads will become a stickie, so there will be no need to make a new one...

Which wife of his is buried there? The one he was married to...or the one he is shacking up with and having kids with? Can't keep track anymore, to be honest.

"I kept my promise." What? Did he promise to let her die before he called 911? Was that the promise?
Who the Fcuk puts that on a headstone? That is an in-your-face for her family and nothing more.
He is a pathetic scumbag.

Oh, see "Date of Death"... 1990... Is that when he allegedly KILLED HER OFF?
Even after her death he pushes the blade ever deeper into her parents' hearts. What a loser.

They didn't leave empty handed. They sold the list of names and address of the supports for a butt load of cash.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/07/08/gov....ap/index.html
Gov. Jeb Bush has declared an end to the state's inquiry into Terri Schiavo's collapse 15 years ago, after Florida's state attorney said there was no evidence that criminal activity was involved . . . .
In asking McCabe to look again into how Schiavo slipped into a persistent vegetative state, Bush had cited an alleged gap between when Schiavo's husband Michael found her and when he called 911. The governor had said the issue remained unsettled.
McCabe said, however, that while such discrepancies may exist in the record, Schiavo's statements that he called 911 immediately had been consistent.
"This consistency, coupled with the varying recollections of the precise time offered by other interested parties, lead me to the conclusion that such discrepancies are not indicative of criminal activity," McCabe wrote in a letter to Bush accompanying his report . . . .
He added that the most likely cause of Schiavo's collapse remains the one already advanced -- an eating disorder.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion - Steven Weinberg.
