I'm not a big fan of spending $50 on a game. I have plenty of games that I haven't even beaten yet! So if you had $25 dollars how would you spend it on mac games?

Here is a list of games so far:
Starcraft Battlechest
Diablo II Battlechest
Fallout 2
Tiger Woods 2003
Wipeout 2097
Warcraft III
Tropico Mucho Macho Edition
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 ($10 & $15)
Enigmo
X-Com: Ufo defense

Diablo II Battle Chest? I think that one is $30-something at Amazon, but if you buy the two games separately it's quite a bit less. That one's fun. Fallout 2 is also a pretty fun RPG, but I like D2 more.

You can probably also pick up Warcraft III (without Frozen Throne) for that much. Although many would argue that Starcraft is better .

If you're looking for more of an action game, you can probably get a used copy of Unreal Tournament 2003 for pretty cheap. Most people use 2004 now, but it's a lot more demanding and, of course, expensive.

Last time I checked it was more expensive to buy Diablo II and Lord of Destruction separately than getting the Battle Chest (at GoGamer).

At Amazon, it's $16 for Diablo 2 and $10 for Lord Of Destruction. The Battle Chest is $30, and I think the only difference is the packaging and the inclusion of the strategy guide.

Looks like that other site sells the individual games for more, but the Battle Chest is less than at Amazon. Either way, it's only a few bucks difference... good value, the game has lots of replay value and Blizzard continues to support it. I think they recently released an OS X installer for it so you don't even need Classic for it.

The D2 BattleChest includes Diablo, along with D2 and LOD.

I'd buy No One Lives Forever for $10 and NOLF 2 for $15 (that's what they cost at my local CompUSA).

Ditto on the No One Lives Forever (NOLF) buys. Good sense of humour required :-)

I don't know why they cost so little, NOLF 2 isn't even that old!

Just bought Enigmo from Pangea, a decent original puzzle game, for some reason it reminds me of Lemmings.

$5 for a copy of X-Com: UFO Defense . . .
$15 for the comfort food needed to sustain me through the frustration of being powerless from the alien attacks in the beginning...
Its the only PC game I own.

because this IS a mac forum -
Dark Forces - original pack! All that sprite stuff was so much fun. Everyone died with their feet facing you. I have a couple of hundred GOB files for it - it would amuse me for weeks.

Wipeout 2097 (Wipeout XL) never played as well as on my PS-One [all jaggy in PS2] otherwise it would win.

I bought Alien Vs Predator from CompUSA for $10, but it is sadly unplayable due to choppiness on a dual 867 with a GF Ti card. I'm extremely skeptical about games after that one. UT 2004 is very playable on my machine, I was surprised to find AVP2 which is an older game, so slow despite its more primitive graphics.

That was such a fun game. I tried it out when I got my G4, and it was just too fast for my liking. Now it'd be soo stupidly fast, I could max out everything.

Gotta go boot up Classic now! (

or is it $35? Still an addictive game that was never the same everytime I played it.
Scooters are more fun than computers and only slightly more frustrating

Diablo 2 or Warcraft 3 would top my list. Great online play, single player replayability, and continued support from Blizzard.

I just got NOLF 2 for 15 at CompUSA and it is a GREAT game, fun and humorous.

Fallout 2 would also be money well spent.

You can't go wrong with these games at their current prices.
Don't blame me - I voted Democrat
