I'm creating a bug report tool. The users could enter locations to related documents on the local fileserver. It'd be great if I could have a link to that directory/file in the HTML.

Is it possible to create a link to a Windows fileshare (\\fileserver\share\file.pdf or \\fileserver\share\directory\) using the < a > -tag?

Most users of the system are using Windows, so a Windows-only solution is acceptable,

Thanks.

yes, links to \\server\folder\file work fine with <a href links. However all Mac browsers choke on those links. Actually that gives me an idea of a bug report to send in for Safari...
