I work in an elementary school computer lab where we have 26 333mhz imacs. We have just updated to new iMacs. The ones in the lab are now going into the classrooms and I wanted to reinstall system software on all of them. Is it better to just do an "erase" install. Or, should I go first to the utilities on the restore disk and initialize the hard drive, and then do an erase install? Which is the best way to do it for the cleanest outcome? Thanks

I use the program in the utilities folder, even though it may not be needed. Then I check the disk for any errors before installing.

You could do either or. They both erase the hard drive. I usually use Disk Utilities first so I can make sure the initialization went ok. Good luck!
