I remember years ago that I was able to do using Netscape. However it does not seem that Safari has this option. I would like to follow a couple of groups.

Wow, it was so easy. I never though about this. When I tried to enter a news address in Safari it did not allow me.

Anyway, thanks!

I would recommend Thoth too. Before Mac OS X, I used to use MT-Newswatcher. But now with OS X, Thoth does the job.

You should check out one of the best news reader around which is not listed AFAIK on versiontracker, It's available here: http://home.snafu.de/stk/macsoup/.
If you're on dial-up you can read the news with this product. It's one of the most used in france by mac users. It's a shareware and it's not crippled even when you're done with the test period.

I also use Thoth. It's a continuation of YA-Newswatcher, and once you're used to it, there's no going back.

Many people compress their pix with yEnc use this app to decode....in MT-NewsWatcher just tell it where its located it and it will decode automatically (freeware).

MT-NewsWatcher handles yenc natively - you don't need third party helper apps.

I love MT-NewsWatcher. However, the speed is abysmal (filtering, particularly) and there are many interface glitches. Simon just doesn't support it much anymore...
