Yeah, these gestures are not made possible by the glass. MT was all there on the MBA before.

So, what's the glass for?

The glass is to provide an optimal feel. Also to be a testbed for the upcoming screen/trackpad hybrids

If it does away with that awful gloss that develops round the middle of the track-pad within weeks, I'm all for it.

I've always hated the way it makes you feel like you have really oily and abrasive fingers. It changes the feel across the trackpad.

I wonder how durable the click will be.

I would think so. I have worn down my last iBook's trackpad until it was silky smooth in the middle, my ProBook's is in a better condition, but the middle is also smooth and sticky. Glass should fare much better, it's a lot harder than plastic.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
