OK, I've got a conundrum for you Applescript pros out there. For some reason I can't map a key on my Powerbook keyboard for the PC forward-delete, which obviously presents a problem for logging into Windows using Virtual PC. I've got an Apple Pro keyboard at home with which ctrl-alt-del works just fine, it's only the Powerbook keyboard that doesn't map properly. Anyway, I've tried to create a script for ctrl-alt-deleting for when I need it, but nothing seems to happen. The script is:

tell application "Virtual PC"
activate
set down of alt key cap of keyboard of virtual machine "Windows 2000" to true
set down of control key cap of keyboard of virtual machine "Windows 2000" to true
press delete key cap of keyboard of virtual machine "Windows 2000"
end tell

and the Windows login screen just sits there. I'm on VPC 5 on 10.2.4, by the way. Any ideas, tips, or witchcraft that might help come to mind?

In VPC, look in the Control menu for "Type Ctrl-Alt-Del."

Hmm, I originally bought the DOS version of VPC, since I have licensed Windows OS CDs. I don't seem to have that option under the Control Menu....

Do you have the VPC additions installed?

Yeah, and I've installed it, but still no option. Well, it's not really a big deal, since I can save the PC's state, so no real reason to really log off actually, now that I think about it...

I have VPC DOS and it has the "Type Ctrl-Alt-Del" command. If you're using Windows 2000, you can set it to not require the key sequence at logon. I don't know where, but it's in there somewhere.
