at the apple store i go to, they have in the window the 3 new powerbooks and they each are running what i guess is a screensaver. it looks like a slide show, with slides cooly describing the laptops.

the slick thing is the slides don't fade in and out, the new ones slide down or up from off screen. it's silent but you can almost hear them click into place. (is this a keynote thing?)

anyway, is this screensaver, or this sort of screensaver, available to the masses??

I'd guess that the app is not available to the public. But Keynote does do that style of transition.

jpeg deux from versiontracker can do slideshows like that with the pictures sliding in from any side at any speed etc. It also does fades etc. I really like it! The only problem is that you have to throw away it's prefs all the time if you leave it set for a folder that you later move or delete because it won't start up after than until you do. It's not a screensaver either.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

last winter the apple stores had the new imac running a "screensaver" of some snowflakes falling. i went into the store, and they told me it was just a QT movie. the guy showed me what they were running on the harddrive. i would guess this thing on the powerbooks is the same thing.

ps. someone made a very nice version of the snowflake screensaver you can download here.

Those are product demo apps running a quicktime movie fullscreen.

I had about 50 of them for the old iMacs, powerbooks and ibooks from when I used to work sales for Apple.

Don't have any new ones though and unless you snag one from an employee, you're SOL.

Check the powerbooks on the floor if they have them as screen savers. I've ichatted a few friends some of the switch/g5/imac, etc. screensavers while at the stores.

yeah, just find the files on the computer, and snatch 'em

of course, sometimes the window display movies are not on the regular hard drives
