I got another problem. Bought a headset of headphones and mike, and tried to speak commands to computer in OSX- to no avail. How does microphone work with speech commands in OSX? Tried everything-no way. Anyone has succeeded?

Speech works on my B&W G3 300 using the microphone that came with it, and with my Pismo Powerbook 500. I do know my friend had problems with his ibook when trying the speech commands.

Are you sure you got a line-level microphone? Unless I'm mistaken, you need one of those to make Speech work right in OSX. The TiBook's built-in microphone works, and I believe the iMac's and iBook's do as well. Apple's own PlainTalk microphone works on my Beige G3, so I would assume other line-level microphones do as well.

regular mics don't work. you need a usb or one that is similar to the plaintalk mic. do a search in the peripherals forum for more info
