From Macrumors:

Safari v65:

- Autofill toolbar button (looks like a pencil writing)
- Autofill form option under edit menu now (works!)
- Open links from apps in existing window
- Always show tab bar
- Tab mouse over now the text turns white

Because they are seeded to beta testers. Doesn't take long for someone to violate their NDA after every beta release.

Very interesting that this story did not make the MacRumors or MacSlash home page (its found in the "Page 2" section of Mac Rumors - Page 2 is traditionally rumors that have been submitted by questionable sources). They are probably waiting for confirmation.

Safari has always had spell check for text fields, but you have to turn it on for each field.

Found on another site..
From a safari developper: "the safari build go by 2, v60, v62, v64, etc..." Conclusion from the guy, "v65 doesn't exists"... anyway, we'll find out soon enough, I guess

I don't know of anyone with a build later than v64 that seems to be "legitimate" (ie, version was not just changed, or some junk files were not just added to the package to change the size of the app to make it look like something was done). Until it appears somewhere, I would say this "v65 is out" rumor is just more BS.

BTW, what were some of version numbers on the older builds of Safari that apple released?

Doesn't this always happen, in every browser?

If you mean that when I click on a link in Mail it opens in an open Safari window, then I hate that. I usually unintentionally loose pages that I am waiting to read because I didn't realize that a new link stole the window.

Clicking a link in other programs causes Safari to open a new window for me (v60). Internet Explorer has an option under its Preferences to do it either way.

I would guess that this is an option.

It is actually a useful option in some cases. For example, if you have a helper applciation that takes a certain URI that redirects after procecssing to some web page, you may want that all to occur in the current web page you clicked the link on rather than start a new page as it does currently.

Everyone should be happy if the option is there.

so what are the chances apple releases v62 with v64 revision just to throw the community off and add something for the heck of it?

Yeah, that explains why v51 was released by Apple earlier as well.

KidRed, have you seen v65?
