hello everybody,
I just downloaded the latest update to quicktime (version 7.16) and immediately had problems using
utube. Is anybody else having this problem? I get the question mark over the quicktime icon. What do I need
to do to be able to use utube? Many thanks.

If you mean Youtube, that is using Flash to deliver the videos. You need to turn off Flash handling by QuickTime, so that the Adobe-Flash plug-in can handle it properly.
System Preferences->QuickTime->Advanced->MIME-Settings->"Use Defaults"

Tetenal thanks for the reply. I went back to default setting. I did not help. Still stuck, I guess I'm going to have to delete quicktime and reload off of the system disk. Don't know what else to do. Thanks again for the reply.

ok, I'm notorious for not paying any attention to instructions. Hey I use a mac. I ahhhh shut down and restarted. Quicktime works just fine now. Thanks.
