Hi guys,

I just purchased a macbook aluminum (2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM) and am on the hunt for good games for it.

I already have an xbox 360 which i used for FPS games such as Call of Duty 4.

I have just got my sticky paws on Neverwinter Nights 2, Star Wars Empire @ War and Pirates!. These are good games which I have missed out on in recent years as I did not have a fast enough mac to run them.

Which games are you playing at the moment? Got any recommendations?

I have noticed that the Sims 3 looks like one of the biggest titles on mac at the moment...
MacBook Alu, 13", 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256MB video
G5 Imac, 17", 1.9Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, 128MB video, built in isight, airport and bluetooth
Indigo iBook, 366mhz; 320MB RAM; CD; FW; Airport

I have Fallout 1 and 2, Gish, and Diablo 2. A bit old, I know. It's all I have on my mac at the moment. Gish is a lot of fun though.

To be honest, I would install XP via Bootcamp if you want to play games. NWN2 and EaW are horrible ports. I have the OS X and XP version of EaW, and the XP version performs much, much better.

After the Unreal Torunament III fiasco, I just bought an Xbox 360 and now play games almost always on the Xbox 360. Ah, I remember be a vocal Macintosh gamer. Ah, the good ol' days...

Heck, I even got to play Halo 2 and 3!

Just picked up Sims 3, and loving it so far. But the rest of my gaming recently has been under Windows (but technically on my MBP!). Specifically, I'm crazy hooked on TF2.

Sims 3 is great. Have been playing for almost two months and it hasn't got old!

Still play the occasional game of Civ IV warlords, and have a bunch of games that I sometimes bother bootcamping for. Just acquired Ghostbusters today, so excited about that

Believe it or not, the main coder is still claiming that UT3 is coming to Mac and Linux. He posted screenshots about a month ago or so.

Been playing tons of games on my Windows disk. Star Trek Legacy, Madden, MVP Baseball, Tomb Raider, Sim City, Bloodrayne…

Thank God these Macs boot Windows!

Only games I play in OS X are Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies. I do play TF2 on the Mac, but booted into Win7.

Plants vs Zombies and Peggle here too.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

MacBook 2.4GHz / 2GB / 9400M

Just had a three-player free-for-all Quake III Arena match with my brothers (that's MacBook Air, MacBook and MacBook Pro!) Ran fine on my MacBook. Great FPS, no major heat issues.

Occasionally play a bit of HL2 and Portal .. although my gaming days are long gone so this is just for a bit of recreational and nostalgic fun, very occasionally.

Warcraft 3: TFT is the only thing I occasionally play on my MBP. Yay for multiplayer and custom maps!

City of Heroes / City of Villains takes up most of my gaming time: the Mac client is slightly less stable than then PC one, but not having to BootCamp makes it very convenient.

I finally installed Win7 on my MacBook (9400M) just to play Unreal Tournament 3. I installed the UT3 demo, set the clock back to 2007 (the demo expired in 2008), and got busy. The demo plays very well, even with all video settings at maximum and the maximum 15 bots. I'll be grabbing the retail game tomorrow and updating it to the latest Titan pack.
