Has anyone else had the hardware test on their MBP freeze during an extended test? It's doing it pretty consistently to me. It happens mostly during the memory test (although there was ONCE that it did it with the logic board test in progress, it reported). I've run memtest in single user mode, however, and it doesn't detect any abnormalities on the modules.

Incidentally, Bluetooth has now disappeared. It shows as "Not Available" in the menu, FWIW.

Apple have not deliver a proper hardware test for Intel, is more when you ay more than 350 $ for AppleCare you received a Rosseta virtualization machine testing tool not a MacBook Pro testing tool.

I'm not talking about TechTool, though. I'm talking about the diagnostic program that comes with the MBP Install DVDs. It specifically refers to holding down "D" on startup to test the hardware. I've not heard anywhere that the change of the CPU makes the tests invalid....

My MacBook (non-Pro) hardware test does not freeze. I have 2 GB 3rd party RAM too.

P.S. The new Intel-specific program seems sparse compared to the PowerPC version.
