Here's the order of Macs I previously owned:
1) Performa 6300CD
2) PowerMac 5400 all in one
3) Powerbook 5300c
4) Powerbook Kanga G3
5) Powerbook Pismo G3
6) PowerMac Beige G3
7) PowerMac B&W G3
8) Powerbook G4 12"
9) Powerbook G4 Ti
10) PowerMac MDD G4

and yesterday I bought a brand new iMac 2.8 ghz

Any difference I will meet? Something changes between one and another?
thanx anticipated.

Check Activity Monitor (sort by kind) to be sure you're not running apps that you could download as UB through Rosetta.

Rosetta is the part of OS X that lets you run PPC code on Intel Macs.

He means, check out to see if there are any apps that are running through Rosetta and NOT as UB (Universal Binaries). In that case, go and get the UB version so it runs natively. I doubt that you may have non UB apps though, unless you're using Adobe CS2...

How is the 2.8?

The speed boost you'll notice is enormous compared to any G4 or G5 for that matter.

Apple just released a fix through Software Update... That said, my iMac NEVER locked up.

This machines Flies! I never experienced something like this, I was so happy with my MDD g4 that I never imagine what I was missing, it is FASTER... REAL FASTER. I am using it right now with Leopard... (now I got two Leopards, one that I bought the 26 of Oct in the Apple Store and one that came with my new iMac. I can Believe it, I'm so like a kid....

I'm very happy.... It doesn't freeze as some of you said, it doesn't do anything wrong. maybe I was one of the luckies but let me tell you something, this machine is no more a home limited computer as the previous iMacs were, this is almost a Pro Desktop without the expansion capabilities... this iMac rocks!
