I'm very new to video cards and multiple monitor configs.
Here is what I would like to do:
Hook up an old Apple MultiScan 15 as a second display for a Beige G3 (Rev.1) Would like to be able to have some apps shown on the MultiScan 15 and some on the primary 15 monitor (i.e. AppleWorks on one and browser on the other.
Should we just get something like the XClaim 3D+8MB card? (It's cheap and I like the composite out capability).

Yup. Most applications will come up on the primary screen (the one with the menu bar) by default. However, you can drag the windows to whichever screen you prefer.

XClaim, good choice for a card.
Most apps will open on the monitor they were being displayed on when you quit the app.

Would I need an adapter to attach the MultiScan 15 to the XClaim?
I really am clueless ;-)

I believe the Xclaim 3D has both Mac video and standard DB-15 connectors, so you shouldn't need an adapter.

The specs say the card has a "*Standard VGA Monitor Connector and 20-pin DFP (Digital Flat Panel) Connector"
So I guess the MiltiScan 15 will plug directly into the VGA port...
Sounds like things should work just as I need them to!
Thanks for all of the input!
