iMac FP OSX 10.1.5

My Dock is now misbehaving.
Suddenly attempts at launching any application icon in the Dock opens a Finder window containing the application instead. Sort of like 'Reveal in Finder'.

Restart of the system cures it.
Force Quit Finder does not cure it.
Fiddling about with Dock preferences sometimes clears it.
(I dont have any 3rd party Dock utilities)

Its happened a few times now since going to 10.1.5.
It will work fine for a day or two and then it starts doing this reveal in Finder thing. Sometimes after waking from sleep, other times it just starts behaving that way out of the blue.

Has anyone seen this? Has anyone got easy fixes?

is your command key stuck down?

I know it sounds stupid, but thats what the dock does if you hold down the command key and click an application icon.

I think shortcipher is right, though the key does not get physically stuck. This happened to me once since 10.1.5. Tap your command key a few times then try. That worked for me.

This idea that it gets 'stuck' mentally rather than physically is odd though. When it was behaving like this it was only the Dock that thought the command key was down and everything else behaved normally.

Thanks anyway.
