I saw it tonight. It was excellent. Don't worry if you haven't seen the previous ones for a while. This one stands on it own.

Yup and it was free. If you have a particular Visa card, then you could get free tickets along with a free drink and popcorn for four people.

I'm betting on a $100 million opening weekend. People are looking for a good summer blockbuster.

They cast Larry the Cable Guy in a movie. They are not sinless.

I was rather unimpressed with Cars, but then they redeemed themselves again with Ratatouille. And WALL-E. And Up.
I'm hoping Toy Story 3 continues this trend. The critics seem to think so at least. 37 for 37. So far so good.

I wouldn't call Bugs Life or Cars failures... but both are pretty "meh".
Still, their track record is unbelievable.

I just bought my tix for tomorrow night to see it in IMAX 3D (Jordan's in Reading MA). I'll be stopping by Kelley's for one of the worlds best roast-beef sandwiches before hand.
Tomorrow is going to be AWESOME.

What, me worry?

"Grovin with Ken" may be one of the funniest trailers/promos I've ever watched. Classic - literally.

I think I'll stick with 2D, if I can convince the GF to see in 2D. 3D movies give me headaches.

Me too. I've been so 'meh' about that whole 3D thing I can't wait for it the fad to fade away. In fact, it was the last Pixar movie that gave me such a splitting headache I swore off 3D.
Need to add this to the 'must see' list tho'.

So, if you thought the first one was absolutely dreadful and never even bothered to watch the second one—is there anything in this one worth going for?

I swore never to see a 3D movie from the front row again, I got headaches too. Last time we saw How to Train your Dragon from the middle of the theater and it was awesome.

It prioritized the more important information, mainly Pan's Labyrinth.
Apparently what you have in linguistic skill was stolen from the portion of your brain that knows what a good movie is.

Fandango's servers have been inundated with pre-ordered tickets. I had issues when it tried to access my credit card to charge for the movie. It's showing up on my credit card, but I haven't gotta a confirmation email. Just kidding.

Why is it so hard for them to send a confirmation email? This is seriously stressing me out. This happened with Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2. I don't see how they couldn't predict this.

I've never used Fandango in my life. I've never had a problem with movietickets.com though.
Toy Story 3 was great - thoroughly enjoyed it last night. I'll try to post my thoughts on it soon.

Are the two sites from the same provider? You'd think they would want to market under the same brand, then.

I hear AT&T’s server admins do Fandango’s server maintenance as a side job. That was a hint.

So, on RT it managed to get 135 straight positive reviews, before getting two negatives. Metacritic has it at 91/100 for critic reviews, and 9.8/10 for user reviews. That's pretty damn impressive. That's the highest I've seen in a long time for such a big movie.

I haven’t been able to leave the room (okay, almost haven’t been able to leave the room) for three days. I’m bored to tears, dictionaries or not. Anything to distract me is fine by me, even if I end up not liking it.

How was the animated short? The two previous ones (Presto & Partly Cloudy) were top notch. Any teaser trailers for the next Pixar movie?

Saw it this morning. Great. Maybe not as great as the first two, but it holds it's own. You really notice how far Pixar has come in terms of graphics though, especially if you did like me and watched 1 & 2 the night before.
Also, be sure to pay attention to the shirt the garbage man is wearing.

I saw this yesterday at the IMAX in 3D and loved it. Yet again, Pixar has another brilliant movie. I have a feeling this will be one of my favorite movies of the year.

I noticed that. It was a nice touch to have him in there. Do you think the toys recognized him?

Weird. I really liked Cars but thought Ratatouille lacked any charm.
But yes, I saw TS3 last night and it was very good. I lawl'd at a couple of scenes and my gf teared up at the end, so I guess it hits all the notes pretty well.

I will watch Shrek at the IMAX, and wait for the Toy Story DVD.
No, really. As a frachise, I enjoy the ogres and donkey more than woody and gang.

We went and saw it and we all teared up at the end. Was a damned fine movie and a perfect conclusion.
The last Shrek sucked compared to TS3, just sayin'.

Toy Story 3 was a near perfect finale to a wonderful film franchise. If you don't like Toy Story 3 or the previous two films, you're either too old or something is a bit amiss with you mentally (no offense intended ). I laughed often and sometimes hard, and as a sentimental person I teared up more than once - yes I'm a soft touch. This franchise debuted in my later childhood, so I have a lot of warm feelings and memories for the films and the characters. Toy Story 3 had just the right mix of humor, child-like wonder and intelligence that I expected it would. And when Woody says his trademark "Reach for the Sky" line in the intro, it really hits the nostalgia-spot.
There were some very minor points that could have been improved. The main villain is too much like Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2, and I personally have some qualms with Andy's choice at the end of the movie. But Toy Story 3 is about as close to perfection as one can hope for. It was really neat that things lined up chronologically for the voice actor of Andy in all the films to be the same age as Andy in this film.
3D IMAX was a very nice experience and quite worth it IMO. And the short was fun, as they all are, although not as memorable as some others. Long live Sheriff Woody Pride, To Infinity and Beyond!

At the end of TS3, do all the toys get recycled into Old Navy pullovers?
Actually, no spoilers please... I hope to see it this coming weekend.
