This is absolutely the last straw.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...ouse-reporter/

Barney bit a reporter for absolutely no reason. It is completely and utterly uncool for Bush to train this vicious dog to attack reporters. Doesn't he have better things to do than to brainwash this dog into being a killer? Who knows if it has rabies or not, Bush probably doesn't even bother to take care of it.

Is there anybody left in this world who doesn't think that Bush has been the worst president ever?

Here is a YouTube video of Barney biting the innocent reporter:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuTZOf5gzZE

Completely uncool Bush!

This dog is obviously in league with the terrorists.

Even worse, it is reported to have associations with Bush.

I hope George Bush personally paid for that guy's health care in getting his finger looked at.

Training a dog to be an attack dog is just a gateway to terrorism. I don't like reporters either, but you don't see me biting them. How do we know that Bush hasn't secretly trained other attack dogs?

And can we impeach this dog? I can't believe this is the First Dog. I know he's only the First Dog until January, but man, we are the laughing stock of the world if this story gets out. What kind of message does this send to the world?

It's amazing how even a discussion about Bush's stupid biting dog makes people act all defensive. If the dog were a part of the Democratic party, you guys would be having a field day.

Well, the collie would have enough room, and can herd all the sheeple making pilgrimage.

I think Obama likes people too much to get a poodle.

The short list has a labradoodle at the top. I've always thought they were a good idea, but end up looking mangy and ham shaped.

Well, if this came out before the election Obama's win probably would have been even bigger. I haven't heard any Republicans condemn this dog yet.

Okay, I'm actually quite appalled and offended that nobody but me seems to be bothered by this story.

People, this is not a partisan issue, it isn't time to play partisan football. This dog BIT AN INNOCENT REPORTER!! It PUNCTURED HIS SKIN!! Think about it, let it sink in a little bit. Do you find this acceptable? I sure as hell don't. Because Bush is a Republican doesn't make it acceptable for him to train his dog to bite reporters. Don't think for a minute that this dog wasn't trained, because dogs don't really have brains that can make this decision. The only way it could have happened was if BUSH TRAINED BARNEY TO BITE REPORTERS either personally, or by hiring somebody else to do his dirty work for him.

If you aren't bothered by this, I think you need to start explaining yourself. This is not a partisan issue, it is a moral one.

You can not be serious.

Dogs bite people every day, they have a mouth full of teeth you know. Sometimes they bite because they are violent and trained that way, but most of the time they are just nervous and scared. Terriers in general are kind of known for this. I am not a dog person myself (due to getting badly bitten when I was a child) and have learned that you NEVER put your hand on them until you have learned their temperament. I like to put my hand out so they can approach me and smell it first. You can usually gauge them very quickly that way. This reporter didn't and the dog let him know he did not want to be petted.

What would you have Bush or any other dog owner do? The reporter in this instance was treated by the White House Physician. That seems reasonable to me.

Now if you believe in the notion that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners, then perhaps we would all be better off if that was President Bush's worst attribute.

That dog must get petted all the time because it is famous, so it should be used to being petted. I think this, and Bush's disdain for reporters is ample evidence to support him secretly training that dog to bite reporters.

Who knows what other kinds of secret training might have gone on with another animals too.

That's a ridiculous question. Why would I? Being petted feels good!

Besides, even if I didn't like being petted, I'd simply say "please don't pet me". I wouldn't just bite the person petting me.

I can for a dog that doesn't have responsibilities of being the FIRST DOG. That dog is seen and petted all the time, he's an animal with some responsibilities that other animals don't have. Therefore, he should have been trained to act in a way that is not an embarrassment to our country.

At least Mr. 20% didn't bite the reporter himself. Must suck to be Bush, right now -- hidden in the white house by his party, like the "special needs" uncle in the attic, where no one could see him through the last 6 days of the campaign, and now the lamest of ducks ever.

And now THIS! Stupid dog! Legacy! Legacy!

When a true genius appears in the world you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. -- Jonathan Swift.

Obama held his first post-election press conference today, and, of course, there was a question about the dog. He said:
With respect to the dog, this is a major issue. I think it's generated more interest on our website than just about anything. We have -- we have two criteria that have to be reconciled. One is that Malia is allergic, so it has to be hypo-allergenic. There are a number of breeds that are hypo-allergenic. On the other hand, our preference would be to get a shelter dog. But obviously, a lot of shelter dogs are mutts, like me. So the -- so, whether we're going to be able to balance those two things, I think, is a pressing issue on the Obama household.
"mutts, like me" -- very cute.

Sounds to me like they should get a rescue dog, rather than a shelter dog -- you know, a dog of a particular breed that for one reason or another doesn't have a home.
