Hi all,
I'm hopeful someone here can help me as D-Link Tech support couldn't find the cause of my problem, nor did my extensive searches of other support forums turn up anything...so here goes...
I recently purchased a D-Link 714P+ for wireless Internet in my house between two iBooks. I enabled WEP (128bit) and successfully networked a LaserJet 5P so we can print wirelessly. We can also surf wirelessly (naturally) and haven't had any problems on this front.
However, the problem is the two iBooks can't file share with WEP enabled (shared key). If my partner fileshares her iBook, I can see her hard drive and mount it. But when I double-click the drive to navigate its contents, I get the spinning beachball of death and a Finder hang. If I turn WEP off on the D-Link, the hanging Finder disappears, and I can merrily navigate way.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Since I can surf the Internet and print with WEP enabled, I don't think I've entered the wrong password. At the same time, I'll gladly stand corrected if I'm missing something.
