I'll take the cocoa, I already have a spot for it. I'm hoping it becomes needed for potions.
I guess I'll be logging in tomorrow night to make the rounds!

Well I had more lapis stashed away in a long lost chest. Andi took 30 blocks, leaving 27 blocks for you Dakar.

I wish the update would finally go live -- I have Monday, Tuesday, and Friday of next week totally off (this week is Hell Week).

I had some spare track I wasn't taking, so I added to Dakar Railway.

Still a loop I think. I will try to fix it tonight. Need to learn more about switching. I like sek's switching stations but there's no way to go down a block without intruding on dakar's basement lands.

Did you decide on a seed for the new world, I want to do some scouting and generate a creative mode private world for tinkering.

The 1.9 version of Oasis was kinda similar to the 1.8, only the left side of the map is a giant ocean now.
I thought I posted pics but I've been so swamped at work lately I obviously haven't.

The sek > dakar > andipandi railway I guess you could call it... I finished the rail you'd started from my mine to your basement, and attempted to make a stopping point in your basement.

I believe you're referring to The Hub. I have to say completion rate on rail projects was abysmal. Too much worrying about fusing aesthetics with functionality... it was headache inducing.
Then Jawbone moved his base and things got weirder.

With the "Oasis" seed I spawn on the edge of a valley / forest with a river, crevasse and village nearby. And just a little further way a fairly large ocean with an island perfect for my medium term plans. No desert in the immediate vicinity though.

They don't respawn either.
My attempt at a vertical launch TNT arrow cannon isn't working out so well.

We need the next level. Notch needs to add NPC breeding.

Where does it end? PC breeding? I don't think he wants it to be that kind of game.

Nahhhhhhhhh...
However, don't be surprised if a ton of little Dirks start appearing all over the map.

I graphed out plans for my new large-scale "fortress," for lack of a better term. Let's just say my love affair with glass hasn't ended, but I'm looking into some new materials as well.

I don't know where I read it, but notch is talking continual weekly Pre-releases of 1.9 leading up to Minecon.
Also, I'm not sure if this is in addition or instead of the Aether, but we're getting some type of Enderworld. Which I have to say, is the right solution if you would want to restore most of the Endermen's powers.

Well my character's inventory is loaded and I dropped off the remaining lapis (30 blocks) in your chest, Dakar, the one near the double doors leading out to the courtyard. So now all there is left to do is wait with baited breath until 1.9 drops and we start the new map.
The final take.

Mushroom soup has replaced wheat for my food care package. Among the dozens of things I'll be crafting right off the bat, a double chest of mushroom soup is one of them.
Regains more health than bread, only two mushrooms needed to craft soup versus 3 wheat needed for bread, mushrooms grow underground easily and will pretty much be an unlimited food supply for me for a very large amount of time in the beginning of the new map.

Cumbersome thing about soup is always the bowls to store etc. Maybe they'll stack in 1.9 like pork chops do?
Good plan. I'm debating bringing sugarcane, if it will or will not exist where we land. I'm also using up one of my diamond pickaxes gathering obsidian, but getting pretty bored!

Even if they don't stack, a full bowl of mushroom soup taken on a journey with spare shrooms to make more soup is what I'm planning on. I used them for the last couple of adventures I've had and it worked out very well. You can't make bread without a crafting table anyways.

If they don't stack that'd make them worthless in comparison to everything else, so I'd assume they stack.

Food stacks, (edit)mushroom soup doesn't. I find steak being my number one food, chicken the second but I need more chickens to reach critical feather mass. Steak is 4 hearts at least so thats 1 ever 4 days. I even managed to light myself on fire, and put it out, all said and done I didn't expend any food at all because regenerating health doesn't consume extra food that I can tell. So if i'm mining I use more food but not much considering my tendency to jump off heights and the lack of sprinting. Any kind of real damage and I come out ahead.

So, Notch decided to turn the Sun & Moon into circles. Then he got a lot of complaints because, hey, that's the charm of a block world with block characters. So he opened up to voting. After a day the poll closed and square won by small margin. So Notch announced that all the undecideds were on his side and said the new circles were staying. I hate Notch.

Eh, I've lost interest. Between it dragging out, impending FPS tsunami, and Notch's direction, I'm pretty apathetic.

I mean, I'm sure I'll log on to play when everyone meets up the first time, but I know I'm going to have to basically learn a new game if I want to build up again.

So I'm in my hardcore world and I found a dungeon that was 1m below the surface of the desert. So I'm digging a tunnel to it from the tower I spotted it from. I go out to dig a vertical shaft to mark a turn. I'm digging out the sand block in front of me as I make stairs down and suddenly everything around me collapses, ravine. I fell far enough to out run the sand. In wouldn't be surprised if it went all the way to bedrock. It's hard to tell thru the water and the red haze. Oh, armor doesn't reduce fall damage any more.

Not at all, I vote yes as well.
I was playing through New Vegas again when my savegame became corrupted, next viable save was 15-20 hours before. Needless to say that game is shelved for the time being.
