And its a Tuesday....

We are busy updating the store for you and will be back within the hour.

New stuff???

Unlikely to be maintenance, the say it's "updating" the store.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

BTW, this is Apple's version of the 2-button PC mouse.

They're slowly becoming more and more Intel-ish.

Had a quick look to take in what it has, and it seems pretty neat. The left and right 'buttons' are touch sensors on the shell, the semicircle buttons on either size are also pressure sensitive to 'squeezing' them. The mouse makes the click sound through its own internal speaker when a button is pressed. I'm sure there will be a Bluetooth version out eventually. So how about a matching keyboard with some new stuff Apple???

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Ahh, you can't win..

Before: Oh come on Apple! Get with the times and do a two-button, scroll-wheel mouse!
After: Ugh Apple! You're all Intel like now!

I just wanted to order one here in Germany. Clicked Apple Store, says "free shipping". I only searched my new Appe ID to enter it, and when re-opening the page, the "free shipping" is gone. Dammit. I'll get one at a local dealer.

My order has been placed.

This is essentially the same design they had a few years ago when the pro mouse was first developed: the buttons are "hidden" under the skin of the mouse so that it still has the appearance of one solid unit.

Me likey! =)

I think I would prefer the tactile feedback of a normal buttoned mouse..... but this is pretty cheap and I will definatly try it out

feedback is very important

Touch-sensitive 'buttons', eh. Dunno if I'd like it, since I am a big fan of tactile feedback in my input devices (I do have a matias tactilepro keyboard, after all). A simulated 'click' coming from an internal speaker might get annoying also.

That rocks my car. I'm ordering one today. I just hope the touch-sensitivity works as well as actual buttons (a lot of touch-sensitive stuff is crap).

I hope not. One of the things I like about the Mac OS is that things aren't hidden behind right clicks. Just today I was showing someone how to change settings in Media Player in XP, and to get to the options, they had to right click on the Now Playing tab. How stupid is that?

I know the one button vs. two button issue has been beaten to death, but I just really think that forcing devs to work within the boundaries of a single button is the best way.

How do you like that keyboard? Is it REALLY like the old Apple keyboards?

Heh, now that every Mac-addict has bought 3rd party, bluetooth, 2 button mice Apple decides to join in. Well its too late for me. I have a perfectly good wireless optical 2 button (plus scroll wheel button) mouse that only cost me $30 (i had to check, but I was ure it wasn't anywhere near $50). The wireless version will probably cost damn near $70... what a waste.

I just want a touchscreen that doesn't leave any prints and recognises how I'm touching it. Index finger = left click. Middle finger = right click/contextual menu/extra options. Drawing signs, gestures, yak yak, etc

These boards drive me insane. For years upon years, one of the most hotly anticipated items has been a two button mouse. MacWorld after MacWorld has seen us hoping for one. When it finally comes, half the response is people finding some reason to whine.

When I read the first reply in this thread, I thought Apple had bought Unsanity's Mighty Mouse haxie.

This is cool and all, but my MX1000 still has more buttons. It needs 3 more and I'll lose the Logitech.
