Does playing chess (human vs computer) puts MB into stress ??
whenever I play chess, the temp quickly goes to around 70 degress C
and fan spins louder, with no other apps running. I never knew that playing chess could be an intensive task for a 2GHz core2 Duo OR just I dont have any idea how an AI play chess.

You can set the "difficulty" that the AI plays at. If you've got it pretty high, it could be doing quite a bit of number crunching to come up with its next move.
