JOB TITLE: Editor
LOCATION: Melville, NY
REPORTS TO: Jann Levesque, Group Publisher
POSITION/DESCRIPTION:
Work closely with publication group to develop editorial plan, calendar and budget for Quick Printing. Create story ideas for each issue of the publication. Write, edit articles and editorials; produce in appropriate format. Coordinate work of freelance writers.
Work with the group to develop on-target programs. Develop a presence in the industry. Professionally represent Cygnus at appropriate functions (ie: trade shows, conventions, associations, etc.)
Work with the Graphic Designer to maintain and enhance graphic appeal of publication and production associates to get publication through process per deadline. Travel approximately 25%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor�s Degree with emphasis in journalism, communications, advertising or applicable field.
35mm photography experience.
Proficiency in QuarkXpress and Microsoft Word.
Five to seven years applicable experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the printing industry a plus.
