I've come into posession of a used lime green clamshell iBook (which, having finally seen one up close, is nowhere NEAR as ugly as everyone seemed to think it was).

There's a felt tip pen mark (think Paper-Mate) on one of the green bits. It seemed to have actually soaked into the plastic. How could I get this out?

(PS - I'm also either sanding down or steel-wooling the outer white shell; Apple was stupid enough in the last revision of the clams to use a white plastic so smooth and shiny that scratches to the surface stick out like Peter North in a harem...)

before sanding it, try using methylated spirits on a cloth to rub the entire thing over. It's quite a handy solvent and cleans most things, should leave it looking good. I don't know whether it's appropriate for use on the screen, some people don't recommend it.

Yeah, but... it'll still be scratched up...?

I found Spic & Span to be a great cleaner; brightens up the green "right purty". But that effing penmark is (in the words of Carl from "Aqua Teens") starting to mock me...

Thanks for the reponse!
