It's ratings are 1.5 to 2.5 times higher than Buffy:TVS, and Buffy was considered successful and ran for 7 years.

Buffy was considered successful for The WB, a brand-new network at the time. The WB's standards were somewhat lower than Fox's are.

Considering, in adjusted dollars, they cost about the same amount of money to make* (this shocked me too) I don't see that there are many differences. If you combine TSCC US and Canadian numbers, it's doing quite well.

American Idol costs even less than Buffy. Do you think Fox would be happy if it started getting the same numbers Buffy did? Bigger networks have bigger expectations. It's not a question of "Is this doing as well as a show on a much smaller network with a similar budget?" but "Is this doing as well as the average show on our network?"

It is doing better than the average show on their network, it's 25-30th overall. That's counting every show, on every network, all week long.

It didn't hurt her, though -- but it hopefully blew some clothes off.

What kind of cliffhanger is that? "Can some fire kill a Terminator? Tune in next season to find out! Or just watch any of the movies!"

So who wants to guess why Cromartie (sp?) decided not to kill Ellison? Is Ellison instrumental in the creation of SkyNet in some way? He recognized the name...

It wasn't really about her getting blown up -- it was more about that guy (can't spell his name) trying to kill one of them as a warning (methinks).

Yes, and also the drama that will happen now that a certain cyborg is missing half her skin.

It may cause problems in school.

I'd figured he wasn't really in assassination mode and he was just killing the people who actually attacked him. But your idea is better.

i think there are other terminators not yet revealed to us but we have seen them interact with humans in the last oh, few episodes. we know this takes place after episode 2 of the movies and in 2 we had a more advance terminator (liquid terminator) then the ones shown so far in this TV series...something just isn't right, to me, how their interaction with each other and with humans.

i think there is a larger infiltration of terminators than we are being shown. they keep going back to the "fooled you" and other references to how they get around/do things without being detected.

Termie -- that's why Cameron asked if she needed to kill her, too.

I've watched most episodes mostly because that's all that's on. But honestly, the acting is sub-sub-par.

The only consolation is the hot guy who plays john connor.

I was amused that the commercials during this episode advertised the news clip for the new Toronto subway camera monitoring system.

TheStar.com | GTA | Green light for TTC's 11,000 cameras

The TTC now has cameras operating in all stations and 300 buses. By 2011, there will be more than 11,000 blanketing the system.

A sure sign the series is gonna be cancelled: Renew FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Petition

To: FOX Television

We, the undersigned, feel FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" has alot of potential, and has creatively improved over the last several episodes of season 1.

The show may not be doing as well as FOX hoped in the ratings, but the buzz online and offline is an indication that the show has a much larger fanbase than indicated with the outdated nielsen system. Every episode has reached Itunes top 5 downloads, which is further proof that more people are watching than shown.

As of the date this petition was created (03.03.08), FOX has not officially cancelled the show, although it has neither been renewed.

Please do not let another quality show suffer with a premature cancellation. Too many quality shows are being cancelled without being given the chance to build a large following.

We hereby petition FOX to renew the show for a second season.

It certainly shows the expectation from some fans if a "Save X" petition is up before X is even canceled.

You know, the next time a sci-fi show premieres on Fox, I think people are going to have a petition ready before it airs.

Saw it this week. Had to watch it on Fox. I'm not sure if our stations in Toronto bothered picking it up again. (They aired it last year, but I haven't see season 2 advertised.)

Anyways, mostly OK, but there was a lame scene at the end of the episode.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. A little corny with the whole "I love you John, and you love me" bit, but overall pretty good.

Are you kidding, Terminator 3 was horrible. The opposing Terminator was much less scary than the liquid metal man. The overall plot didn't make too much sense to me (considering the ending of Terminator 2 at least). It just felt that they just wanted to make yet another Terminator movie.

If you're criticizing that movie in the context of the other Terminator movies, then you should criticize the series for the same reason.
