Running 10.12.4. I am trying to figure out how to look at the contents of one Note from a few days ago. I found the specific file inside the Notes container folder within Time Machine (123.notesexternalrecord), however when I click on it, it opens to the current version of that note. How do I find the actual data of that note from a few days ago. I don't want to revert my entire Notes collection, I just want to look at that one note. The data has to be somewhere.

I have a feeling it could be buried inside the following file, but it appears to be encrypted. Any idea how I (the administrator) find the key to open this file?

/Volumes/TimeMachine/Backups.backupdb/MacBook Pro/2017-04-04-003229/Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/CloudKit/[gibberish ]/Records/records.db

Thank you.
