Between the smoking and rather unhealthy level of anger, I give you about 10 years max before you get your first heart attack. Good luck with that, and don't forget your insurance id when you get to the emergency room.

Yes, or it might mean the employees were just uneducated lowlifes spouting nonsense, which I find to be a more likely scenario. I am sure the stores have written rules somewhere, if they're on the net, I will find them.

I don't take crap from people, when it's justified, but I also don't elevate my blood pressure and become the only one upset over an incident that doesn't even deserve a second thought, and I don't go around stereotyping people who are supposedly inferior to me because I have an inferiority complex.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Yes, and you might get hit by a double decker bus tommorow. We all will die eventually. Even if I come across as angry here, I'm really not that angry of a person. I can't even remember the last time I got this angry as when I was in that store. I am happy 99% of the time.

A stereotype is not a stereotype when it happens to be true, something those employees proved. They are uneducated, they lie and they're rude. No wonder they work at that crappy job.

(anchor on radio): "To all motorists driving northbound on I-95. Be warned that there is a passenger vehicle driving south against traffic. Stay in your rightmost lane and do not pass other vehicles under any circumstances - we will notify you as soon as the threat has subsided."

(36 yr. old): "A vehicle? A, as in one? Dude there's thousands, literally. And south? WTF are you talking about? They're all going north - fscking degenerates"

Heh, so true.

I couldn't imagine showing ID for everything, it already works on my nerves when they check your ID for +18 parties and rip your ID out of your hands to check it (which is illegal, btw) let alone some booze or cigarettes.

The person behind the counter was an idiot, but alas, stupidity is not a crime or even a tort. You don't have much of a case. Her only mistake was wanting to card you; given that, she acted properly in refusing to sell to your girlfriend since she knew that the cigarettes would go to someone who had been carded but refused to show ID.

I reiterate: the person behind the checkout counter was an idiot. Unfortunately, she also acted in a completely lawful manner, and doesn't seem to have left any significant loopholes.

This is like 'Whack the Mole'.

Whack Budster down the hole and a clone mole pachead pops up and gets whacked by a store clerk.

It's like you think everyone should move a side when you walk by and bow to your superiority.

In your rants you sound just like Hitler. You'll wanna put these lowlifes into special camps next.

You have friends? I'm beginning to think they were your gang members who went in to rob the place but you ruined it all with your childish tantrum.

What scares me is they sell guns to people like you. VERY SCARY!

Get over it. I'm 27 and still get carded for rated R movies. People in low paying jobs are often dumb. I had a bouncer at a club tell me my passport wasn't a valid ID. I had him get the manager. The manager let me in and told the bouncer he was an idiot.

I don't understand implementation of carding the whole group. If I go to the grocery store and plan on buying alcohol with all my food, no one under 21 can be with me. But parents with their children are ok to buy. If the cashiers go by policy, how is it ok for a 15 year old cousin to be present with an older relative buying alcohol, but not with me? Age discrimination.

LOL. This is too funny. You think a store clerk is a stupid idiot because she ID's you? Guess what? IT'S YOUR FAULT. You should ALWAYS carry ID with you, for this and other more serious predicaments. Here in Ontario it's REQUIRED BY LAW to ID anyone who looks anywhere close to 25 and under for booze, smokes, lottery tickets, and porn. And most stores go father and ID anyone looking the least bit young i.e. under 40. As for her not supplying the cigs to your friend, that is ALSO LAW. If the intent is there for your friend to supply you (the one without proper ID) anything that requires ID, the store is held liable once your friend hands the object in question to you. I myself have had this happen at the liquor store. My friend who was 28 went in with me and we picked out some bottles, went to the cashier and he had no ID. Guess what? She denied both of us, even though I had proper ID, because we walked in together. Sure I was mad, but they had every right to do so. Buck up, and be a man about it. You were to blame for not having ID on you at the time. As for the suing? Get real.

Please someone photoshop this.

I would change Michael Douglas to Pac Head on the top and add a pack of cigarettes in the front shirt pocket (Marlboro Reds).

Pac Head would you be so kind to provide a photo of yourself for the sake of accuracy? One with a scowl would be best.

Maybe change the bottom line to "A Tale of Urban Discrimination"

I don't think the cashier was an 'idiot' at all, she followed standard procedure. The only idiots in the story would be the topic poster for throwing a fit, and possibly the security guard for swearing at him. The girl did no wrong.

But then, most kids grow out of middle school eventually.

Not all of them.

C'mon dude. Be flattered that you may look younger than you are, to the cashier. No ID? You'll remember to bring it next time.

Just go to another store and get your friend to purchase and everyone is happy. You get complimented, you get your stuff, you will remember to bring your ID next time. Smile bro.

Actually I have successfully used said situations to flirt, and even got a a couple dates with the ensuing chatter.

Otherwise, I laugh now, as it happens less and less (and who doesn't carry ID in this country?).

Pachead, you are such an idiot. I can't even imagine what you would be trying to actually sue for. The clerk did her job. You didn't have proof of your age. Simple as that. You call it a 'ridiculous job,' yet if that job did not exist you would have nowhere to purchase your precious cigarettes. Don't be such a clown. There is no way any amount of complaining will get this clerk fired. On the contrary, she will most likely be given praise for asking for ID when she felt unsure about the sale. Stores like that would much rather lose one sale (to an ignorant asshole) than lose their liquer/tobacco license. Grow up.

Maybe the cashier was trying to do a favor by not letting you poison yourself and others around you?

I disagree, just from knowing how PacHead behaves here at these forums.

I think PH exhibited some rude or unnecessarily offensive/threatening behavior after being carded. Much as he does in nine out of ten posts here.

The person behind the counter simply decided against serving them (PH + gf) because no establishment is forced to serve anyone anything.

So what PH experiencenced was discrimination. Against idiots. I give the person behind the counter a big for denying PH & co service while smartly never saying or doing anything illegal. In fact, following the law to the letter

cheers
