i am having a heck of a time figuring out why in the world my school's lab full of imacs are saving files in the pc format...is this a file exchange problem...something is not configured correctly in there? or is it a rebuild desktop problme...has anyone seen this before...

this happens when the students save kidpix files and IE files/pics and then go back to them later and they turn into those ugly pc files icon....

does anyone know what to do..........or have they seen this or can u fix it?

thanks.....

What are you transferring/saving the files with? If you use PC formatted floppies, Zip disks etc., then MacOS uses file exchange to interpret what the file is. If it's in Mac format, then it should recognise the file type automatically.
