I have my power settings in OSX set to never put the computer to sleep when it is plugged in, but to put the display to sleep after 10 minutes of nonactivity. As soon as the screen goes black, the little white LED light glows as if the entire computer has gone to sleep. Is it normal for the white LED to glow if JUST the display is asleep? I can't tell which is happening, and I believe on my old Powerbook the LED glowed only when the entire computer was put to sleep.

Also, I have bootcamp and XP SP2 installed, and on my desktop in OSX I now have another icon of a hard drive labelled, "Untitled" (which is, of course, my XP partition). Is there any way to get this icon off my desktop or at least to rename it? It's NTFS file system, so I can't write to it, so as far as I'm concerned I'd rather not be able to see it.

Thanks!

The LED will glow when the screen is off but the computer is on, and it will pulse when the computer is asleep.

cool, thanks. I hadn't noticed that it wasn't pulsing, but now that you mentioned it, it wasn't. Thanks again.

sorry -- thought since it also involved the energy saver feature of System Prefs it might be an OSX issue.

You can rename the NTFS partition when you're booted into Windows.
