I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers.

Nobody will tell me anything - other than to tell me to wait.

It's a helpless feeling.

All I know is that she was still alive this afternoon.

I'm very sorry to hear that. Such is life. I just lost both of my grandparents within 3 weeks (to the hour) of each other. I'll keep her in my thoughts.

I went to high school in VA with a girl named Laura Kelley. I really hope this is a different one, but at the same time I feel extremely bad for you Spliffdaddy. I dont pray often, but I will tonight.

She's a Virginia native and she's 30 years old.

I don't pray often, either.

Usually only for selfish reasons.

Why does it mean a lot to you?
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

She's doing OK. Still in ICU, but talking.

She walked out of the plane.

A girl so afraid of flying.

Reckon she had some sense, after all.

Thank you a million times over for your thoughts and prayers. This world would have been so much worse without her.

I'm happy to hear that you have her in your life. Also good to know that she is doing better.

I hope that she will have a full recovery. I can be a long slow process.

You are both very lucky to have each other.

Currently she's still in intensive care. Attached to a respirator and sedated to the point where she's pretty much in a coma. She has severe damage to some internal organs such as her spleen and lungs. Every effort is being made to prevent blood clots from forming - which is hindering her ability to heal the damaged organs. She is sedated because her lung capacity has been compromised - and the respirator has to cycle every second...inhale/exhale. This is extremely uncomfortable (try it for yourself) and therefore she cannot be conscious.

The doctors have stated that her prognosis is very good, and that most people never recall being in intensive care. At best, she is weeks from being classified as 'stable'.

She enjoys daily visits from her friends and family. A testament to the fact that she's an awesome individual.

She is unaware of the fate of her colleague who died in the crash.

This was up at one of the pilots boards.
I'm glad to hear she's better.

This is one of my biggest fears is to have one drop out from under me due to iceing.

Your thoughts and prayers are working. Thanks again.

Got an email today with an update on Laura Kelley's recovery.

Good morning all.
Just a little update. Laura is off of the resperator. She is on a Trake mask...I guess it just pumps air into the Trake for her to use. She is breathing on her own through that. She had X-rays of her abdomen to see if her lungs were taking on fluid yesterday, if no fluid appears they may pull her 3 chest tubes. She is awake but not following orders by the nurses, I think she is messing with them because she will move her fingers when I ask her to, untill she gets tired. And to all of those who have known her for a long time sit down...She smiled yesterday. For today they plan to give her an MRI on her head and neck to make sure there was no trama there. We are getting close to the end here i think. Thanks to all of you. Again, if you have any questions, feel free to call: 703-338-xxxx. Please leave your number because I am not sure whos numbers she has on her phone. Thanks again,
Jacy
