We had some weather today. Remnants of a hurricane apparently. Torrential rain, bright sunshine, breezy all day, spot of hail, showers then back to sunshine.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Keep it up there. Weather's crappy enough here without adding snow.
I feel sorry for those little kids trick or treating tonight. Brrrrrrrrr.

Separate from the cold right now, it's supposed to calm down a bit, but I'm 170 pounds, and the wind was strong enough to push me around.

Gusts in the 50s and 60s.

I remember seeing a show when I was a kid where about 80 was when it blew the guy over.

Snowed multiple times today in Chicago. WTF ?

Highest snow accumulation on Halloween since weather records started sometime in the 1880s.

Worst part is that it was 78°F on Monday (4 days ago), and they were actually calling for snow, which I'm surprised we didn't get. Last year we were the snowiest city in the US, and I'm wondering if it will be that bad again this year. I certainly hope not, because we had 4.25 feet in one blizzard last winter, and I'm not terribly tall.

Oof.

So... the sky "opening up" means cloudy and raining? I always assumed it was the reverse.

if you picture the cloud layer as a giant trap door, holding an ocean of water above you, then the skies opening up is that trap door opening and dropping a ****ton of water on you.

We're supposed to have the "skies open up" and drop three inches of snow.

That actually kinda sounds like fun.

What a crappy morning in NYC - partially frozen rain is falling like mad, the streets are a sloppy mess with huge streams to traverse, and it's frickin Monday.

We were initially supposed to get buried yesterday through this morning. Luckily, the storm tracked north of us, and all we got was about an inch of snow and slush. It was the same storm now hitting the northeast.

I've been over snow for a long, long time. I'm too old for this isht.

Some ski stations are actually closed in the Pyrenees due to high winds, avalanches and one had a transformer knocked out which means no ski-lifts. Hope its all sorted soon, I'm on holiday in 2 weeks for my own ski jaunt.

New member of our team started last week. Today over coffee the Froggies were complaining about the shit weather and it being 5°C. New team member calls them all poofs. New team member gets asked how cold it is where he's from : -24°C.

He's from Montreal.

Based on all the snow we have, we'll be having snowball fights in T-shirts and shorts in June. No freezer required.

No snow at 07H00. Lots at 07H30. School bus cancelled. Had to walk since its up a hill and no cars able to go up the hill. Too much red in Google Maps Traffic so at home with a nice mug of coffee playing War Thunder until it thaws a bit.

Did some 21st century man stuff : laundry, dish washer, even cleaned up.

wtg matty!

We dug out from monday's 1-2ft storm, but the snowbanks are getting so high that every shovelful is now a full overhead fling to clear the top of the pile. More expected Thurs. Wheeee!

At least, as you say, the ski areas will have great conditions.
