I don't get it. Why would they put "Winter is coming" above "The Day After Tomorrow" when The Day After Tomorrow has more snow?

Fortunately it's just flurries. No accumulation in the western burbs.

I have a feeling that we WON'T see snow in May this year. It's been a mild winter.

Right now, the wind chill is in the 20's. It's supposed to hit 60 by 3 PM.

The winds in the DC area are really blowing hard. (Gusts above 45mph) I looked out at 2AM this morning and the SNOW was blowing off the roofs! 76 on Friday, 58 on Saturday and 40 today. Tomorrow they say 70 degrees and sunny. Good thing I didn't start the veggie planting.

The tulips are darned confused.

Today drove in hail, and then 5 minutes later blue skies.

Smallish hail, but still.

Wife was in Chicago for work this weekend, couldn't believe the snow. It was 40 degrees and 50+mph winds yesterday, then hit 81 today.

14 days in a row we've had rain in DC. Most since 1936. Haven't been able to mow the grass. Its 15 inches tall.

I feel this is useful information people don't know.

Dew point is under 60°, it's dry. Dew point over 70° and it's crack sweat humid.

In between is in between.

Don't point, it's not polite.

What if I use my big toe to point?

Well it's two weeks before summer and a few of the local New England mountains just got a blizzard.

Judging by the pound-and-a-half of ice I just hammered off the inside of my window, I have an insulation problem.

Left the Midwest on Friday, chances of a white Christmas were down to 20% or less.
In the Seattle/Everett area, snow came on Christmas Eve, and was on the driveways, sidewalks and grass on Christmas morning. It was less than one inch, the threshold for "counting" back home, but it was white.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

Christmas morning at the parent's came with an unexpected change from rain into a full-on blizzard. We even lost power a few times.

Current lows for the coming week are, in order...2, 9, 7, -2, 0, 8

It's pipe-burstin weather!

I’m sure I’ve asked this before, but did anyone else think “wind chill” was “windshield” when they were a tyke?

Yeah...

It doesn’t make the apartment super cold or anything. That’s behind a curtain (which is why I didn’t notice until it was too late), and there’s a radiator right below it, which I presume is making it worse than it looks.

It’s 70°+ in here without even touching the HVAC, so I’m not really “wasting energy”. The temp sensor for the radiator is in the lobby of my building, so I’m not making it work more than it would anyway.

Maybe a touch as it’ll take a little more gas to warm the return water.

Still, there’s a chest-height lever to open the window. I should probably pony clamp a towel to it or something.

CPS canceled school for tomorrow.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen the day before a snowpocalypse.
