LOL! Just when you thought it was safe to back in the water...

In that case I'd have hoped that a site with nearly 10 years experience would, by now, have learnt the code of ethical conduct which guides internet journalism. Abiding by that code would then be a natural progression, wouldn't you think?

Well, not by ripping off stories from those sites.. Let's see: how did DAPReview get the scoop on the story we are discussing the copying of in this thread? One of the staff there spent hours and hours pawing through crap on Asian websites in Asian languages until he stumbled over it. If macnn or ipodnn want scoops like that one then perhaps they might like to start pawing themselves..(ambidextrous meaning not intended)

Of course, it won't help a site to "score a scoop", anyways, if the other sites simply copy the article and refuse to give credit..

Hmm..I look at the latest article published at the ipodstudio:

http://ipodstudio.com/forums/showthread.php/t/1839

..once again, the source is quoted clearly at the bottom of the article along with the other links; which begs the question: why are they not afraid to post a source link? And why do they and most others do exactly that, whilst ipodnn doesn't? And why do other sites make a concerted effort to find the source link if they don't have it to hand, whilst ipodnn refuses to "bother"?

"We get our stories from various sources and make every effort to credit sites that originate stories. Sometimes it doesn’t always happen, for one reason or another, and that’s the case here. T3 never knowingly ‘steals’ news stories from other sites and always attempts to track stories back to their original source, to prevent matters like this happening."
Could it be that the "oh sorry, a reader sent that to us, we didn't know.." excuse get's old real quickly? Let's face it, you can tout that excuse every single time you're challenged...

Give it a rest. What if that's what really happened? (MacNN does encourage news story suggestions.)

Does your TV news tell you their source? Of course not.

Let it go.

I was done a while back when I wrote:

I think I've made my point now and don't see any benefit in going over something we've covered 3 times in this thread already, so I'll bow out at this point. My thanks to those who've listened.

but members like iLikebeer wade back in and motivate a reply. And asking me a direct question is hardly the best way to lay down a thread, either.

I'll resist the temptation to answer it in an attempt to leave this thread now.

Now don't blame others for your lack of self control.

Well, being as you prompted me...

One last question: why are old news articles (5 days old to be precise) posted in the Today's iPodNN Stories section where surely only today's news should be posted?

http://www.ipodnn.com/news/05/07/21/...allest.player/

Is to help fill out that section? Never did understand that..

Well, taking you at your word, and not wishing to see you arrive in this unfortunate situation again, allow me to be first to give you this story, which I'm sure you'll want to report on later..I'd hate to think that someone might send you this story and "forget to attach the source info"...

Story: "Crownfast Technology Releases The MP270 iPod Shuffle Copy!"

Here are the two sites reporting on this so far:

http://ipodstudio.com/forums/showthread.php/t/1903

Glad to be of help.

LAWL are you still trying to say they got the information off your web page?

I assure you no one at MacNN is going to take the time to do that.

You were told it did not happen. You aren't getting an investigation.

You are beginning to sound like a sore "loser"

As a matter of fact, if I was the person that did such postings, I would make sure to post every news article your webpage posted.

What webpage was that again? Never heard of it.

This has gone on long enough. Netwatch, you got your answer, you think the news guys are lying, well tough. They're not.

You are being a jackass, thinking that if you complain loud and long enough, you'll somehow get an "oh, you were right". You won't.
