One of the most favorite apps for me was the Google Map. The one has a map and yoru GPS blue dot indicates exactly where you are in relation to the streets. I have not used it for a while, The other day I tried to use it, it disappeared from my iPhone. I cheaked my iTunes back up it's not there either I can't find it on the AppStore either. Did Apple yanked thiis app?

I think he meant the Apple app.

Since it’s a pre-installed Apple app, it’s not supposed to be removable, and as such, you won’t find it in the App Store. If it somehow manages to delete itself after all … well, then I don’t rightly know what to do but reset the iPhone from scratch (which of course takes ages).

Is there a better way that doesn’t involve jailbreaking?

Can it be blocked using parental controls? Maybe that's what happened.

That's what I think. And Google Earth is still around and even more useful (and fun) than ever.

Google Earth is cool. If you have any experience in GIS, ESRI has a free ArcMap iOS app with some interesting included maps and layers.

I get the feeling he means the Map App, which I believe is based on google maps. It has the little blue dot that you can use to map your movement on GPS.

If it has disappeared, you may just need to restart your phone. If that doesn't fix it, then you may need to restore to factory settings (as much as it can be), then see if it's back.

You may be correct, but Google Earth has the blue dot as well.
