Under your power management options set performance to highest, judging by your numbers it is set to "automatic" read, reduced. This should make a dramatic difference in your overal score...

Please don't tell me Apple is using a Toshiba for their 80GB 5400rpm HD option? They are the loudest, most annoying HDs on the market! WHY aren't they using the super quiet, fast and smooth Hitachi 5K80?! I know they use them at random, so I hope that the Hitachi's are somewhere in the mix.
I am sorry - please don't take offense to this as it's a good HD. Most aren't as picky about HD noise as I am. Anyone else care to share which OEM 80GB 5400rpm HD is in their new PowerBook?

Dude, my Titanium with an 80gig Hitachi 4200rpm drive gets a 107 in XBench after a fresh install--you *must* have something unoptimized.

Stop posting stuff like this, everytime I see people with awesome computers it makes me want to cough up my saved car money for a new powerbook. I hate college sometimes.

The CPU and disc marks are impressive but the Open GL results are about the same as a Rev A. 17( 2fps faster only!). What's up with that? The new model has a much better graphics chip and twice the memory. Quartz marks have improved in line though.

Right now I'm trying to copy over my files from my TiBook over Airport. 16000 files from my Pictures folder was estimated at 3 hours. During that activity, iTunes gets 46-48 FPS for full screen visualization with OpenGL.

You do know you can copy your files via FireWire?

Same here. I'm supposed to get my 12" revC PB any day now, and I'd like to know what these xbench scores mean.
Thanks.

Yeah, but don't have a cable handy here at work. I'll do that when I get home for the remaining files.
