I have a 15" Al Gigabook and am wondering what you other Al book owners use to keep the exterior finish like new?

One damp cloth and one dry cloth.

It gets transported in a Waterfield SleeveCase.

Really. That's all it takes. The Aluminum is exceptionally easy to keep free of smudges, and is of course incredibly scratch-resistant. It'll look like a million bucks* for a long time, for the low, low price of only $3000.

* once the bright splotches on the display are solved for good

I agree.. a slightly damp cloth to just wipe down the wrist rests keeps it pretty clean. My Tom Bihn Brain Cell is its means of transportation.

However, I have a scratch on the bottom of mine, and thus feel that it is pretty easy to scratch it.

same here... I follow the apple care guide that came with my PB and just use a slightly damp lint free cloth to clean the entire thing (including screen; care guide says a damp lint free cloth on the screen as well... I use light pressure to be safe). Apple reccomends that you not use any cleaner or abrasive materials.

I give mine a thorough cleaning about once per week.

After you did lots of work on your pwb, you will hardly notice there is scratch. I still remember the day I found a scratch on my iBook. But one year later, I really don't care how many scratches on it. Let it be part your real life.

Not quite. Apple says that some commercial cleaners are OK and specifically mentions Klear Screen.

Ya, I'm taking it as a badge of honor. :-)

Now, I'm also a lot less paranoid.

I think the lotion in the baby wipes would show with time. A cloth works great on all but the screen. I use that iKleer stuff from the Apple store. Works great but I find that dirt sticks to the light polymer coat it leaves behind when you use it on the body of laptop. So you actually clean the laptop case more often. I would actually suggest using a damp cloth from VERY SLIGHTLY soapy water to remove finger grease and dirt from the laptop case.

Just my $.02.
