Women's billiards, all the way. The players are actually at least reasonably attractive, plus it amuses me to no end that Mitchell Laurence from NNtN has wound up becoming a commentator for billiards on ESPN.

Yeah, I know it's not on ESPN, but it should be.

OK, how about the quirky stuff they show occasionally on late-nite ESPN2? The coolest thing I saw as an SCA sanctioned battle. 2 generals, 2 armies, 1000+ people. "Druids" and "Priests" were the Judges, intermingling throughout the battle making sure people are abiding to the rules.

Man, was that cool.

Not sure what the "sport" is called... but its usually done by kids of 7-8 range (maybe older?).. but they basically stack cups. I think they have like 12 plastic cups.... and they get timed on how fast they can stack and unstack these cups in various formations.

Never knew this existed until they did a piece on the US championship type tournament. It was a bit impressive though... they go through like 4-5 formations in like 7-8 seconds.

Pool (definite props to the women as others have said), and then poker. The retro bowling is classic stuff to watch just to see how everyone dressed back in the day.

i think we had a thread on that at some point. i think its called "professional cup stacking". another good sport for the ocho.

Magic Adds ESPN2 To Its Deck

In what has to be a first for collectible trading card games, the Magic: The Gathering World Championships will be broadcast in October and November on the ESPN2 sports network. Wizards of the Coast, the company behind Magic, has been touting the game as the "intellectual sport of the '90s," and its president and CEO said the ESPN2 coverage legitimizes the claim.

ESPN2 will air individual and team competitions on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 10:30 p.m. PST and Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 1:30 a.m. EST. Additional Magic segments will be broadcast on Nov. 25 and 26.
