list of devices which can't play the CD is listed.

Some CD players that have the capability of burning into an MP3 (such as portable players or car stereos).
Some CD players that possess CD-R/RW functions (such as portable players or car stereos).
Some car stereos with satellite "Guidance" systems
Some CD players or car stereos with hard disk recording capacity
Some CD-R/RW Recorders used for music
At this point, you may be think that CD-R users are being told to get lost, but it only gets better. The list goes on:

Some portable CD players
Some DVD players
Some CD/LD Convertible Players
Some Game Players

Although you can use your PC's Windows program to listen to certain tracks, this does not mean that the CD can be played in all PCs.
The first time that this program is used (in Windows automatic starter software) it gets registered in Windows File. Thus, programs already registered to not affect Windows operations.
Windows OS also uses the latest files.
This CD does not support Macintosh PC software.
Sony have entirely lost the plot. Note this insert is inside the case, and you can only return it if it's faulty.

Maybe by the time the PS3 comes out Sony will have such a rep for DRM, PS3 sales will suffer. I don't really see myself buying one right now if this is their attitude.
^what I put previously - it's wrong, it's not Sony, its EMI - they've lost the plot - I'm a muppet

http://edition.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/...oldplay.kapur/

^see, EMI

but I do think Sony aren't far behind - they [music labels] seem determined to kill CD sales and force everyone online to rip things off in order to listen to music - daft.

Including fixing my camera.

Brand new and it didn't work. Sent it to them for REPAIR. (Should have been replaced with a brand new model.) They told me to send in the entire thing - in the new retail box - and I did.

Know what they sent back?

A refurbished model in a brown box!

Not only that, no drivers (software) or manual came back with it?

I'm REALLY angry about it...I'm telling everyone I know the kind of crap they pull.

Sony has been pulling this kind of crap for years! I refuse to purchase anything from them anymore except my recent purchase of a W800 phone as at the time no other phone offered the same features.

When I looked for a TV, I was told that Sony mainly trades on its name. That you are paying for the name Sony.

Woaw!

These features must have meant life or death to you!

I do not buy any SONY products anymore either. The more I look at them, the less reliable they seem...

"This CD does not support Macintosh PC software."

Besides the fact that I personaly hate such kind of description, it mostly shows that the responsible person for this text has no clue with respect to computers.

Good thing I don't buy music on physical media. And how is someone supposed to get his bought sony labeled music onto his w800 handy? Is there a way?

Heh, maybe they will revive - although slightly altered - their old campaign. New tagline:

"It's not a CD, it's a Sony."

sony publish coldplay, not virgin - unless you're getting at something else.

Nowhere other than your post is Virgin mentioned, I'm confused.

Once again - the CD in the article is not made by Sony. The headline merely portrays it as worse than Sony.

we do not accept product exchange, return, or refund.
They can say it, but that doesn't make it legal. If they do not properly disclose the product, consumers can be misled, and thus return any misleading purchase.

A$$holes.

Quoted for EMPHASIS. Some here have serious reading problems....
FWIW the 'protection' seems to have been broken already.
