Has anyone else noticed a delay (~3 seconds) when changing tracks on the new iPod w/ Video?

I’ve been to the Apple Store twice now to check them out, and I am really disappointed with the long delay (A very consistent 3 second delay, in more than one iPod). I’ve had a 3rd Generation iPod for a long time now, and I am not willing to give up the speed for all the extra features the new iPod brings to the table.

The only excuse I can come up with is that these are display iPods. I can only imagine how many people before me touched, poked, and kept these things running all day. That might explain why these iPods are so slow.

It depends how much content the file has. If the song has a huge graphic for the artwork attached to it (Some people have 600 x 600 images stuck to their files), lyrics, ratings... all that information has to load. I have a 30GB Black one personally, and the delay seems similar to my "old" 4G 20GB w/ color display.

There is a very noticeable delay, roughly two seconds, on my 30gig 5g. It's more than a bit annoying.

Only real delay i see in my 5G 30 gig white, is the loading time of videos. Tracks play pretty fast IMO, but then again this is my first iPod
iBook G4 1.42 60GB 768mb. G5 iPod Video White 30 Gig.

So it seems this problem is not just a fluke in the store models. Guess that means I won't be buying a new iPod until they fix that problem!
