A couple of weeks ago, my OS-X system (10.1.2) seemed rock-solid. Then increasingly over the past week or so, I am having more and more application problems. I'm getting endless bouncies, some things will take forever to load (over a minute for the clock!), and I am getting more and more unexpected quit errors. Programs that ran fine recently are now unexpectedly-quitting for no apparent reason.

I hardly understand the console window, and I have never used the CLI or the terminal, but I keep seeing the same errors show up in both the regular console window and the crash log.

I am getting tons of "RuleBookServer" errors. Unable to locate RuleBookServer, RuleBookServer has timed-out and is not responding, and so forth. If a program crashes, there may be ten errors related to the "RuleBookServer."

Also, I am seeing "Kern_Protection_Failure" errors relating to these issues surrounding the problems that I am having.

What gives? Is there something going wrong (that I can fix), or is there a bug happening here?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, because I would really like to get my system back to its rock-solid state. I'm guessing that there is a corrupted file somewhere, but have no idea what or where, or how to fix it.

Thanks!
