I remember being able to call right into stores.
Today, I got an imbecile who was at a center not the store.

Had to hang up after 6 min of wasted time (she knew nothing about nothing- how do they get hired?)

My question was: To have Apple remove and replace a battery, can you just go into the store anytime, or do you have to make an appointment?

Go to the store. They'll put your name on the waiting list (if there's a line)
You can also make Genius appointments for your store on the Apple website, but that function buried way, way, way deep. You will need an Apple ID to make an appointment online.

You can still get people at the store itself, but they make it difficult.

Your question is really a call center question, though. It’s the same answer for every Apple Store.

Subego, no you cannot call the store. Period. This was confirmed by a manager at the store today. It's over, you have physically go to the store to ask anything about the store.

You can book a genius appointment online which I did.

I didn’t say “call the store”, I said “get people at the store”.

The store can’t be called. The call center can transfer a caller to the store.

However, they’re not going to do it to set up a repair, because they built a call center for that.

No that does happen anymore. I confirmed it today with the call center and the store.

You can call the store. I do it occasionally, but they don’t really like when you do.

You can make a reservation for a Genius bar appointment online.

Yes Oreo, going in tomorrow. I booked online as always. You can delete this thread, by that afternoon, I had confirmed: you cannot call a store with a phone direct anymore regarding anything about that store.

Sometimes if you fool around with their contact us forms, some of the options will lead directly to the store, others will go to the call center.
