I have an i4 and my wife has a 3gs. Hers is eligible for the 4s subsidy but mine isn't. Can I enter her info when I make the purchase tomorrow morning and just switch our sim cards when the 4s arrives?

Would that not also switch the phone numbers for the devices?

Both, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have a micro SIM.

You should be able to swap the micro SIM between your and your wife's (new) phone without a problem.
AFAIK, the iPhone are (only) carrier-locked (not locked to a specific SIM), so an AT&T carrier-locked phone will work with any AT&T SIM card.

So I could purchase the 4s for myself under her #, receive the 4s, 3gs becomes a brick, and swap the sim cards between the 4 and 4s, right? The 4 would have her # and the 4s would have mine? I just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Thanks!

Edit: yes, we're both on the same AT&T plan

What would bsnyder's wife do with two iPhone 4's?
